Govt. notifies new schemes related to PPF, NSC, SCSS, KVP, etc.; withdraws old rules

G.S.R. 912-22, dated 12-12-2019

The Central Govt. has notified new schemes related to the Government Savings Promotion Act, 1873, i.e., the Sukanya Samriddhi Account, Public Provident Fund, Senior Citizens’ Savings, etc. The old rules have been rescinded with an immediate effect. However, the recession shall not effect operation of the said rules in the relevant period.
The followings are the rules which have been rescinded by the Govt.:
(i) The Post Office Savings Account Rules, 1981,
(ii) The National Savings Time Deposit Rules, 1981,
(iii) The National Savings Recurring Deposit Rules, 1981
(iv) The National Savings (Monthly Income Account) Rules, 1987
(v) The National Savings Certificate (VIII Issue) Rules, 1989
(vi) The Senior Citizens Savings Scheme Rules, 2004
(vii) The Kisan Vikas Patra Rules, 2014
(viii) The Sukanya Samriddhi Account Rules, 2016

Update:

Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Public Statement

The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has called on its members and other jurisdictions to apply counter- measures to protect the international financial system from the ongoing and substantial money laundering and terrorist financing (ML/FT) risks emanating from the jurisdiction of Democratic People\’s Republic of Korea (DPRK).

Further, Jurisdiction of Iran also is subject to a FATF call on its members to apply enhanced due diligence measures proportionate to the risks arising from the jurisdiction.

FATF has further identified the following jurisdictions as having strategic deficiencies which have developed an action plan with the FATF to deal with them.

  1. The Bahamas,
  2. Botswana,
  3. Cambodia,
  4. Ghana,
  5. Iceland,
  6. Mongolia,
  7. Pakistan,
  8. Panama,
  9. Syria,
  10. Trinidad and Tobago,
  11. Yemen and
  12. Zimbabwe.
